The Film Commission has been part of the film funding in Hamburg since November 1992. We are the main public contact point and network for the film industry. It is our task to promote and boost Hamburg as an attractive place to make films. We help to make filming in Hamburg easier by offering various services and by developing new ways with the industry and the local governement to optimise conditions for filmmakers.

As a non profit state society we support all kinds of projects in Hamburg - TV movies and series as well as feature films, international co-productions, documentaries and commercials. It is our aim to make Hamburg the most lively and desirable film location possible.

We are connected with the other German Film Commissions and jointly launched a portal website in 2003. Location Germany

Since 2004 we are also a member of the Association of Film Commissioners Ineternational - AFCI
